Hout Bay Beach

Beaches: The most beautiful beaches can be found in the immediate proximity.

The water is often cold, but many people still enter the water in their swimming suit. The temperature can strongly vary depending on the current and the beach. The beaches are often suited for children to bodyboard or for the first surfing attempts. Wetsuits are recommendable for children.

  • Hout Bay: long protected bay, good for families, shallow water, playground, good for lunch & dinner on the beach,approx. 5 min by car
  • Landundno: gorgeous wild beach, great rockformations and view, cold water, approx. 5 min
  • Sandy Beach: small private beach next to Llandudno, suitable for nudism, 5 min
  • Nordhoek: drawn-out wild beach with fantastic view on the Chapman`s Peak Drive, for log walks, approx. 20 min
  • Camps Bay: here are the rich and the beautiful. Nice beach, expensive, often overcrowded, approx 10 min
  • Muizenberg: approx 3-4 degrees warmer water, shallow water, suited for children and families, stronghold of surfers, approx. 20 min.
  • Big Bay: worthwhile excursion with lovely Table Mountain setting, perfect for kite and windsurfing. Nice restaurants directly at the bay .

 

City & Shopping: Hout Bay offers plenty of good restaurants and bars. Only 15 minutes away, you’ll find yourself in the center of Cape Town with all you need. There are big shopping facilities around Cape Town, Africa’s biggest is e.g. Canal Walk, in approx. 25min distance.

 

Wine and Excursions: Constantia begins only 10mins away. Perfect as a starting point for excursions to Stellenbosch, Franschhoek as you can easely access the M3 or M5 highway.
